American South

Postby Recluse8747 on Mon Jan 28, 2008 10:13 pm

Some of VA's recent columns have reminded how little I know of the pre-60s South. John has already mentioned Carleton Putnam's "Race and Reason" which I am interested in reading.

Can anybody recommend any other titles concerning the American South, especially its history?

Recluse - just by coincidence I just posted something in the 'Resources' forum; Clyde Wilson's list of recommended books on the history of the South.
